Despite Sustained Attacks, Premier Retains Support
Since ascending to the leadership in 2006, the opposition and the media have engaged in a sustained campaign to attack Premier Ewart Brown and distort his record.
It's not working.
According to our latest poll conducted from 28 September - 1 October by Research 2000, a US pollster who had the 'most accurate' final polls in the 2004, 2002 and 2000 American elections, 43% view the Premier favourably and 40% view him unfavourably.
The Premier retains strong support among black voters and young voters. Fully 57% of black voters view him favourably vs. 23% who view him unfavourably. And, among young voters (18-34), 57% s. 24% who view him unfavourably.
While the Premier's critics may be louder, more visible and have greater access to media, it's clear that there is a silent plurality in Bermuda who are supportive of the PLP and the Premier.
