Minister Burgess Credits Marc Bean for Road Paving, Forthcoming Bus Shelters
Today, Minister Derrick Burgess credited Marc Bean's leadership for road pavings in Southampton. In particular, he noted that Mr. Bean advocated early on for the paving project currently underway between Barnes Corner and Granaway Heights and that he and Mr. Bean are currently working together to bring bus shelters to the Greens Guest House and Church Bay stops.
"Marc's been canvassing Southampton West Central for nearly two years now and is deeply connected to the community," said Minister Burgess. "He told me that he was hearing on doorsteps that some roads and bus shelters in the constituency needed work. I'm glad that Marc took leadership on these issues, brought them to my attention and worked with me and my team to get the job done."
Minister Burgess continued, "I'm pleased to announce that thanks to Marc Bean's leadership and advocacy, a paving project is currently underway between Barnes Corner and Granaway Heights and more paving projects are coming soon. I'm also pleased to announce that, thanks to Marc's leadership, bus shelters by Greens Guest House and Church Bay are forthcoming."
Minister Burgess went on to say that he never heard from Charlie Swan on either issue.
Marc Bean thanked Minister Burgess for his work on the issue. "I've been in Southampton West Central meeting voters at their doorsteps for over two years now and I've heard a lot of people asking for road paving and improvement projects," said Mr. Bean. "So, I decided to take action. I worked with Minister Burgess and his team to get the job done and I'm pleased to see that progress on road improvements and bus shelters is being made."
