Out of Touch

Is Kim Swan and the UBP really insinuating that Bermuda should be using a different PR firm because black owned firms aren't as skilled at putting white heads in the beds?

Swan cryptically contends, "(GlobalHue's) statement suggests it has a limited understanding of Bermuda — the client."

It's not the firm that's out of touch with Bermuda - it's Kim Swan. He's spent so much time at UBP meetings that he's lost touch with the majority of Bermudians.

Kim Swan goes on to reveal the true motivation behind his comments, "I am concerned it is pursuing a narrow, racially tinged approach to the business of attracting visitors to our shores."

Is Kim Swan really saying that an internationally respected PR firm that happens to be black owned is incapable of reaching audiences of different colours and ethnic backgrounds?

We certainly hope not because that's insulting and racist. Before Kim Swan makes another narrow and racially tinged comments perhaps he should review some of GlobalHue's work on behalf of Bermuda. Go to work > GH Next to see some of the ads they've produced on Bermuda's behalf. They're professionally done and target people of all races. In fact, white people play a major role in GlobalHue's ads. Some of the ads feature only white people.

Kim Swan is out of touch with Bermuda and a majority of Bermudians. He is the face of a party that has yet to purge itself of racist elements within. And, those elements are clearly speaking when Kim Swan makes racially tinged comments.
