According to former Opposition Leader Wayne Furbert, the UBP has received single cheques worth hundreds of thousands of dollars each. Fortunately for the UBP, their friends at the Royal Gazette have treated them with kid gloves and have buried this potentially explosive story.

But, it's not just the UBP that has received extremely large sums of money, it's also the shadowy ROI Group that was used to spread lies and smear the PLP during the last election campaign. The Royal Gazette has remained mum on that story as well.

We certainly acknowledge the UBP's right to take these six figure contributions. Further, we fully believe that all people have a right to express themselves politically, including attending PLP events and fund-raisers, and we would not want to strip that right away from anyone. All we ask is that the media treat both parties fairly.

Unfortunately, The Royal Gazette is so hopelessly biased that they would rather fixate on the fact that someone bought two tickets to the PLP's June 2008 Gala than to expose the ugly truth behind Kim Swan's deeply hypocritical attack.
