Premier Meets with Taxi Industry Leaders
Premier Dr. Ewart F. Brown met today with the leadership of the Bermuda Taxi Association to hear their perspectives on a variety of issues facing local taxi owners and operators in the upcoming year.
Premier Brown is the Minister with responsibility for Transport. He said: “The meeting was productive. Good information was shared and there was good dialogue. I am confident we can reach mutually beneficial solutions in the year ahead.”
Secretary of the Bermuda Taxi Association Owen Darrell said: “We appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Premier and the feedback we received from him and the transport staff was very encouraging. They offered many valuable suggestions that we hope to implement to better taxi service as a whole. We look forward to continuing the dialogue.”
Junior Minister Sen. Marc Bean, Permanent Secretary Cherie Whitter and Transport Control Department Director Randy Rochester also participated in the meeting on behalf of the Government.
The Taxi Association’s President Gilbert Trott, Vice President Albert James and Mr. Darrell represented the interests of taxi owners and operators.
