Four Year Nursing Programme Announced
Today, Health Minister Nelson Bascome announced the Nursing Education Pathways Programme, a four year nursing education programme that will help train Bermudians to get stable, good paying jobs in nursing. Minister Bascome:
The introduction of a Nursing Education Pathways Programme is a historic initiative. I say historic because it will be the first time that nursing education is being added to the curriculum at the Bermuda College and the first time that the Bermuda College will offer a four-year training programme for nurses...
The Bermudian Nursing Education pathway will see our students working towards a four-year Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
They will however have the opportunity to achieve an Associates Degree in Nursing by completing a total of three years.
This will be achieved by them completing two-years at the Bermuda College working towards an Associates Degree and then continuing for a further one-year clinical rotation which will include assignment to an overseas institution...
This will be a quality Programme that is accredited, progressive and internationally affiliated.
This opportunity is focused on advancing the careers of working Bermudians. There's plenty of opportunities for nurses in Bermuda and internationally. This programme will help more Bermudians take advantage of these opportunities and advance their careers. And, it's yet another indication that your PLP Government is getting the job done for Bermuda and Bermudians.
