UBP's Furbert Slams Swan Selection

Today, UBP MP Wayne Furbert expressed a sentiment held by many Bermudians. He said that Charlie Swan doesn't represent change in an way. He also said that Swan isn't a strong leader. The people of Southampton West Central deserve better than Charlie Swan. Swan had an opportunity lead in the Senate, but, instead, proved himself to be an ineffective member of an ineffective opposition. Furbert:

This is a step backwards as I don't believe Charlie Swan represents the type of change we want to move in.

He's a nice guy, but we have missed a golden opportunity to go out and find a better candidate than Charlie Swan and also a possible candidate who could be a future leader of the UBP.

We are lacking leadership in the UBP overall – I am not saying Kim – and the wisdom to look for the long term.

We need to find someone the public can get excited about and move forward.

If even UBP MPs don't have faith in Charlie Swan's leadership, why should the people of Southampton West Central? Bermudians in that constituency deserve strong and effective representation. Marc Bean is a rising star in the PLP. He serves as junior Minister of Transport, Tourism, Environment and Sport. He's an outspoken advocate for Bermuda's youth and is deeply rooted in the community.

Marc Bean is a strong leader. Charlie Swan is an ineffective member of an ineffective opposition. The choice for voters in Constituency #31 is clear.
