As a former Cabinet member and Senator, Mr. Mussenden is well suited to add valuable input in future PLP Governments. As the candidate for Smith's West, Mr. Mussenden strives to tackle a number of local constituency issues. He notes there are a number of traffic and safety related issues in the community; from the need for additional streetlights, traffic signs and speed bumps due to the increased traffic. Ms. Minors, one of the first Progressive Labour Party Government Senators, became a Member of Parliament in the 2003 General Election when she defeated UBP Candidate Allan Marshall by a margin of 123 votes. Mr. Blakeney is the sitting MP for Constituency 13. He has worked tirelessly to effect timely resolutions to his constituency concerns. Mr. Blakeney was successful in efforts to have roads resurfaced in the Cedar Park area and was also instrumental in having street lights erected in his neighboring constituencies. Mr. Commissiong is a well regarded expert in race relations who currently advises Premier Brown. His role is one that is designed to serve and advance the Premier's agenda on a host of social issues, some of which includes, the Bermuda Race Relations Initiative, assisting in public policy formation with respect to Bermudian black males and his work on the recently launched "Mirrors" programme, which is designed to address the challenges confronting at risk youth in our community.
